[Was he home at the time? Was he out and didn't notice until much later? At some point during or after Tanabaata there was a THUNK from his window, and he if he looks out to investigate, he'll see a little woven pouch hanging from a ribbon, tied to an arrow that's been shot at the barn. He might not know it but the pouch has been charmed to be water proof, the spell dispersing when the ribbon is pulled.

Inside is a little illustrated slip of paper that says "Tenderhearted Telegrams" marking it as something from Bluebell's booth, as well as the following anonymous letter:]

Face-Making Devil,

May you meet the partner of your dreams someday. May they return your calls.
